Loving the Lonestar!

Last month Veronica taught a hands-on class featuring Quiltsmart's Bitty Lonestar at Cactus Quilts in Texas City. To say the least it was a success!! It was so successful, that she has been asked to do it again! If you missed it, you have a second chance.

Saturday, January 4, Veronica will be teaching another Bitty Lonestar Workshop at Cactus Quilts in Texas City, Texas, from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Veronica will take you through the steps to creating a small Lonestar Quilt top using Quiltsmart printed interfacing and rectangles. In this 4-hour class (with lunch break), participants will have the opportunity to complete a 19-inch Lonestar that is perfect for a wallhanging or tabletop.

Cactus Quilts is located at: 1811 6th St. N., Texas City, TX 77590 (between Houston and Galveston). For more information, a supply list or to sign up for the class call Cactus Quilts (409) 965-9778.

Bear Thread Designs Website Now Features Quiltsmart!!

Bear Thread Designs' website has undergone a complete change in the past two months and we are still adding new things. This week we have added a whole list of Quiltsmart patterns and projects.

Quiltsmart projects are creating using printed interfacing making traditionally difficult patterns easy! Now you can make a Lonestar Quilt without having to face diamonds and Y-seams. Now you can make it using printed interfacing and rectangles. The same method is used for making Tumbling Blocks quilts.

Bear Thread Designs now carries:

  • Black-Eyed Susan Snuggler Pack
  • Bow Tie Snuggler Pack
  • Lone Star Snuggler Pack
  • Apple Core Classic Pack
  • Double Wedding Ring Classic Pack
  • Grandma's Fan Classic Pack
  • Liberty Crown Classic Pack
  • 58" Lone Star Classic Pack
  • Mariner's Star Classic Pack
  • Mary's Flower Garden Classic Pack
  • Mini Mariner's Compass Classic Pack
  • Pumpkin Seed Classic Pack
What's the difference between a Snuggler Pack and Classic Pack? Snuggler Packs are generally smaller sizes, perfect for tablerunners, baby or lap size quilts. Classic Packs are usually bed-size or allow for multiple smaller projects.

But quilts is not all we have. If you're looking for some quick and easy projects for Christmas gifts, try one of the Quiltsmart bags, created using printed interfacing. They come in 3 sizes:
  • Bitty Bag (Bag bottom is about 5.5" square with 9" tall sides)
  • Midi Bag (Bag bottom is about 8" square with 12" tall sides)
  • Mondo Bag (Bag bottom is about 10" square with 17"-tall sides)
