Retreat time

Veronica  was going to to to Bend, Oregon tomorrow, but these Texas allergies are kickin" her behinnie.  So instead, she and one of our other employees, we'll call her V, are off to retreat.  Actually they left here yesterday.  Veronica called to see if they still had room and they did, so she packed her bags and off they went.  There were 11 in all going to retreat.  This is a new place called Stoney Creek.  she should get plenty done.  Veronica took enough stuff to keep her there for a couple of weeks.  They'll only be gone this week, but she did not want to run out of stuff and be bored.  Here is a little bit of her pile of "stuff" going to retreat.  We'll get a peak at what she gets finished when she gets home.  She took things that were on her UFO list.  She also took a couple of scrappy quilts for future classes.

So we'll have to wait till Monday to see what they both got done.

Saturday's Class

What a great time we had in our class at Cactus Quilts on Saturday.  We worked on two different patterns.  One was our Streak of Lightening and the other was a mystery 5" charm pack challenge. Here are some pictures of our class and our quilts.    Sorry, but we were so busy having fun we forgot to take pictures.

Here are a couple of pictures of classes that will be taught on the Cactus Quilts quilting cruise.  We'll have that info for you on Wednesday, so check back.

This is the Shop Hop quilt that Elsa made.  It's hanging at Cactus Quilts.

Here is Elsa hiding behind the table runner that she made using charm squares.

Saturday's Class

Veronica will be teaching Streak of Lightning on Saturday at Cactus Quilts.  Come join us.

This is only part of it.  Veronica had some of these 3" finished 9 patches left over from another project. You don't have to make 9 patches.  You can do a 3" square or 4 patches if you wish.  We're pretty easy.  Yes, I, Jaggie the Bear, will be there.  See you there.

See you right back here on Monday.

Musty Quilts?????????? Tip Thursday Sew Fresh

Sew Clean

Did You Know?....Sew Fresh is an ODORLESS Non-Toxic
Formula.

Sew Fresh ODORLESS formula will eliminate the musty
& moldy smell from quilts that have been stored for a period
of time.  Here’s how to get the musty smells out.  Spray both sides of the quilt and lightly brush the formula into the fabric.

Repeat if required.

NOTE: check for color fastness in an inconspicuous area before treatment.

Amy Bradley at Round Bobbin

Here are pictures of Amy during one of her lectures.

Here is a sample of her fabrics that she will use in a quilt.  These are her reds to yellows.

Here is a bundle that Veronica fell in love with.

And of course, here I am with Amy.  We took this during take down as she had been so busy teaching all day, every day.  She worked so hard and then she came to help us take down.  She is amazing and oh, so sweet, I hope I get to see her again real soon.

Made It!

Here we are!  We made it to St. Charles.  We worked like dogs to set our booth up on Thursday.  We were almost done and then we heard a scream and somebody yell, "What did you do?"  We just closed our eyes and heard the whole 20' booth come crashing down around us.  So our booth, the two behind us and the stage came crashing down.  Poor Leslie, we gave her a heart attack.  We've got pictures of the two of us.  She's such a cutie and a great snuggler.  You'll see her.

So here I am, this is how I rode most all the way to St. Charles.

I got a boost after a stop.  I just couldn't see where we were going.  Thanks for giving me a boost up!

Here is my bed at the Wyndham.  Oh, it was soooooooooooooooo comfy.

Here I am in our booth on Friday, looking so handsome in front of a couple of Amy Bradley's quilts. She was at the show teaching and lecturing.  Here is her Meet the Tweets.  Over on my left is her Princess quilt.

Here is a better look.  Poor quilt, it got this crease after the booth fell on it.

These are pictures of our booth and here I am with Leslie.

See our silver pins?  That means we're important!  Ok, I made that up, but it does say VIP on it.

More pictures tomorrow.

Michelle's Medallion

Hi all! I got a photo of Michelle L's Medallion! In fact, because she is doing a solo robin, we can show you updates periodically without ruining the surprise for another quilter. She talks about all her creative projects at her blog, The Teacup Collector's Cottage.

Her medallion is the Princess Feather using Quiltsmart printed interfacing. This is also her first "Christmas" quilt and she is very excited. We'll show you the progress throughout the year, but you can also follow the details on her blog.

That's a sewing kit???????????

Wow, this is a cool sewing kit.  Check out what Veronica's friend Connie made.  Connie teaches this at Quiltworks in Cypress, Texas.  This little house lives with another friend up north.  Veronica is still working on hers, actually she started hers in April of, hmmmmmmmmmm, 2013.  Yes, it's not high on her priority list.  Oh, well, she's thinking of taking it on the next cruise to work on.

Look at all the hand work... Awesome!!!

Pretty little flowers.

Look at the tree.  All silk ribbon.

Isn't it great?  I'm impressed.  But I'm wondering why there is no bear in the window?
